Sheena's Making An Impact

Uncategorized

Meet one of my DIY PR Members, Sheena Taylor.  Sheena is an ADHD Relationship Mentor and the founder of Chaos to Calmer ADHD Mentoring, where she support ADHD women who feel “too much” or “too difficult” in their personal relationships.  She's has some incredible success DIY-ing her own PR and working strategically to get talked about by the right people in the right places.

Here she deep dives into the work she's been doing to Get Known for what she does and the impact it's having on her business.

Tell Us About Your Business - what do you do?

I run Chaos to Calmer ADHD Mentoring, where I support ADHD women who feel “too much” or “too difficult” in their personal relationships. Many of the women I work with carry a lot of hidden shame, feeling like they’re constantly letting others down or struggling to keep up. I help them break free from those beliefs, create calmer routines that actually work for them individually, and step into a life where they feel confident, grounded, and fully themselves. My work blends practical systems with mindset support so they can move from chaos and self-judgment to self-love and self-trust.

Can you tell us some of your PR highlights? What are you most proud of?

I have been featured as a speaker and expert across a range of respected platforms. I was a conference speaker for the Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers and have been featured in both Ideal Home and House Beautiful.

I’ve spoken on the ADHD panel at the Home Life & You Show, delivered a guest talk for the Caterham WI, and appeared as a guest speaker at The Mum Reset—an event supporting overwhelmed mothers.

My media experience includes a live interview on Meridian FM (East Grinstead) and guest appearances on several podcasts, including Long Story Short with Andy Copps and Powerful Conversations with Claire Thomas.

How have you found DIY-ing your PR? Has anything surprised you?

DIY-ing my PR has been a really empowering process. I’ve learned that sharing my story and expertise doesn’t have to be intimidating - t’s simply about being clear on who I help and the transformation I offer. What’s surprised me most is how receptive people are when I speak openly about ADHD, shame, and the real-life challenges women face behind the scenes. Once I started pitching from a place of genuine connection rather than perfection, doors opened much more easily. It’s shown me that you don’t need a big team or a polished strategy to get visibility - you just need to show up authentically and consistently.

What impact does the PR have on your business?

PR has had a meaningful impact on my business. Every feature, interview, or speaking opportunity helps me reach ADHD women who may not even realise support like mine exists. It builds trust quickly—people are far more confident reaching out when they’ve already heard my voice, seen my expertise, or connected with my story through a respected platform. It also positions my work as both credible and needed, especially around topics like shame, overwhelm, and the emotional load ADHD women carry. Ultimately, PR helps me amplify my message so I can support more women in moving from struggle to confidence, both at home and in their lives.

What’s the best piece of business advice you’ve received?

The best piece of business advice I’ve ever received is to genuinely believe in myself and my abilities. Every entrepreneur wrestles with self-doubt at some point, but trusting yourself - your instincts, your ideas, and your past experience - is what allows everything else to fall into place. When you back yourself fully, you make clearer decisions, take braver action, and create opportunities you might not otherwise have taken.

What’s your favourite bit about being an entrepreneur?

My favourite part of being an entrepreneur is knowing that the work I do genuinely helps ADHD women become a happier, more confident version of themselves. There’s nothing more rewarding than witnessing those shifts. I also love the flexibility entrepreneurship gives me - the freedom to shape my days, follow my creativity, and bring new ideas and projects to life in a way that light me up.

And the worst?

The most challenging part of being an entrepreneur is carrying the responsibility of making every decision and generating every new idea yourself. There are many moments where I’m problem-solving alone or trying to create something that truly resonates with my audience without having someone to bounce ideas off. It can feel isolating at times, but it’s also taught me resilience, resourcefulness, and the value of seeking support and community when I need it.

Can you bust a PR Myth for us?

One PR myth I’d love to bust is the idea that visibility is difficult to achieve. It really isn’t. When you’re willing to be brave, put yourself forward, and say yes to opportunities, PR becomes far more accessible than people realise. Visibility isn’t about perfection - it’s about showing up, sharing your message, and allowing others to see the value you bring.
